The set includes a 17/64 inch x 3-1/2 inch steel spindle with 3/8 inch -20 threads, suitable for square drive spindle systems commonly found in antique and vintage door hardware sets.

These knobs are adjustable to accommodate different door thicknesses. The shanks include set screws for fastening them to the square spindle. Please note that the set does not include internal mortise lock body, door rosettes, trim and strike plates, or latch and fasteners, which must be purchased separately. It's important to note that these knobs cannot be used on pre-bored doors with large, newer style knob holes without proper preparation. Installation tip #1 suggests filling the holes with a hardening filler before mounting the rosettes (purchased separately). Products like Fix-It-All® or Bondo Body Filler® are recommended, but caution is advised to avoid damaging prefinished door surfaces.

Installation tip #2 recommends using Loctite ThreadLocker 271® on the set screw threads to prevent loosening (Loctite® to be purchased separately).

These brass-finished door knobs have a projection of 1-3/4 inches and a 9/32-inch square spindle, fitting doors that are 1-3/8 inches thick. The set includes mounting hardware and features a durable construction of solid brass with a polished-brass finish.
